Let's add a new word to the Dictionary!
finkel [fing’-kuhl] verb - to treat a legal client in a rude, arrogant manner after a retainer is collected; to withhold a fee schedule until after services are performed ; to demand additional client funding while still holding a positive balance on the books; to neglect the details of a legal case;
Example: Wishing to concentrate on more lucrative cases, the attorney chose to finkel his client to avoid providing additionally retained services.

Don't assume.
A lawyer won't work harder because you pay him more. It just means he's greedier than his colleagues.
